Please join Global Women in collecting these needed items and ship them to our Birthing Hope contact in Alabama. With each box of items you ship, please include a check to Covenant Community Church to help defray the shipping costs to Haiti. A suggested minimum amount is $30 per box. Please note that personal leftover prescription medicines cannot be used. All donations should have at least a 6-month expiration date. Also, for items such as vitamins and antacids, large bottles are preferable for transport, though in Haiti, they wil be repackaged in zip-lock bags for distribution.
- Prenatal vitamins
- Multi-Vitamins – Children’s chewable, adult, and women’s
- Iron tablets
- Antacids and acid reflux meds
- Cough medicines (for both dry and wet/mucus coughs)
- Calamine lotion
- High blood pressure meds
- Oral meds for diabetes and cardiovascular problems
- Pain and fever meds of various types (children and adult)
- Broad-spectrum antibiotics, oral pills and topical ointments
- Anti-fungal creams and capsules
- Anti-parasite (worm) meds
- Anti-malaria meds (like chloroquine)
- Small zip lock type plastic bags for dividing up the pills
- Boxes of sterile surgical gloves and of clean exam gloves (small, medium, and large sizes)
- Rolls of clean and sterile gauze
- Packaged dressing/wound pads, 4x4 inch and larger
- Cotton balls
- Alcohol wipes, small individual packs for travel
- Paper tape for dressings and bandages
- Band-Aids, all sizes
- Ace bandages, 2-, 3-, and 4-inch rolls
- Stainless steel bandage scissors
- Metal tweezers
- Stethoscopes and Blood pressure cuffs
Global Health Action plans to send these supplies to Haiti on an on-going basis. The first delivery is planned for mid-April so please send any meds and supplies for that shipment to Elba by April 9th. Items received later will be included in future shipments.
